He was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, on April 29th, 1942. He graduated from Benjamin Harrison High School. He married his wife, Virginia Santana, on June 18th, 1981. He worked in maintenance. Of his personal interests, he had a passion for R.C. airplanes.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Santana, his children, Carlos W. Santana and Angel L. Santana, and Edwin Santana, his grandchildren, Tatyana N. Madrid, Aryana L. Santana, Vanessa Santana, Melissa Rivers, Shialyn Koonce, and his siblings, Wilfredo Santana and Olga Velez.
