Sally Lou Logan, 88, of Bradenton, Florida passed away of natural causes on Saturday, May 21, 2022. She was born in Union-Endicott, New York in 1933. With two older brothers, she was the baby of the family and the only girl to parents Dorothy and Ralph. She graduated from Union-Endicott High School with her best friends Flo Tizvanis and Bev Ostrowski. They remained friends ever since.
In the early 1950’s, she met and married John Logan. Together 60 years, they raised 3 boys, David, Todd and Stephen. In 1967, the family moved from chilly New York to Bradenton. Aside from annual summer vacations to the north via the family station wagon, sunny Florida was home. In Florida, she had a career in banking.
Sally was an avid reader. She enjoyed many types of novels, though lately she favored spy thrillers. During any week you could find her with 3 books going at once.
Though a confident cook, Sally enjoyed eating out. Her favorites restaurants were Demetrio’s, Cracker Barrel and Carrabba’s, all on Cortez Road.
She loved animals and always had pets. She was particularly connected to a small white dog named Buddy. She also spoke affectionately of Rosie, the first cat the family had in decades.
Sally was blessed with many friends and relatives. Among the many were John’s sisters Betty and Dawna, her long-time friend Judie, and neighbor Toni.
Sally is survived by her 3 sons, their respective partners and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John, in October 2021.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park, 1221 53rd Ave. E, Bradenton, FL 34203. A committal service will immediately follow in the park.
