Born January 31, 1943, in New Orleans, LA, she was a daughter of the late William J. "Curly" Rivers and Mildred J. Stone.
She was a longtime resident at Plantation Village and was the Village Dance Chairman.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherri Frieler (Scott), of Bradenton; her brother, John W. Rivers, of Oregon; her sister, Mary Jo Land, of Sarasota; two grandchildren, Lauren and Kathleen, as well as a host of friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Manasota Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Tidewell Hospice.
