Joanne W. Lawson

Joanne is survived by her husband, John Lawson; her children, Eve Lawson and Amanda Santos; her grandson, Benjamin Santos; and her brothers, Richard and Bruce Waddington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Margaret (Fees) Waddington.

Joanne was born and raised in Philadelphia and Lower Merion, PA. She attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Joanne was actively involved with many non-profit organizations throughout her life including her position as Vice President of the US Committee for UNICEF.

Joanne held numerous executive leadership positions in her over fifty years with the New York Choral Society, and was responsible for organizing the choir’s international touring. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Branchville where she served as Financial Administrator and Elder. Joanne also volunteered with John at Manna House.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church of Branchville, 3 Wantage Ave, Branchville, NJ, interment will follow in Branchville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, Branchville, NJ. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.net.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Joanne’s name can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Branchville or the New York Choral Society.
