Tony was born in New York City and raised in Caldwell, NJ. He served in the United States Navy. Tony earned a Bachelor’s degree and Teaching Certification and went on to have a career as a teacher for more than 30 years. He most recently taught at Halsted Street School in Newton prior to retiring in 2001. Tony was an avid gardener and served on the School Board for Sandyston Walpack District.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Addison K. & Margaret (Gude) Barry; his brother, Addison Barry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sheryl Barry; his daughter, Jessica Barry (Bart Hollingsworth); his sister, Anne Barry; his grandson, Henry Barry; as well as his cousin, Barbara Thoner and her children, Jane Thoner (Scott Eagleson), Carol Thoner Eby and Greg Thoner.
