Mrs. Sutphin passed away December 31, 2024. Her beloved husband, Galen, passed away February 4, 1994. Beloved mother of Sandra Santora and husband Joseph, she is also survived by grandchildren Bryan and wife Melissa and great grandchild Kailee; Andrea Chletsos and great granddaughter Ella; two nephews Michael Sutphin of Fairfax, VA and Mark Sutphin and wife Diane of Warrenton, VA; grandniece and grandnephew Amy and Cory of VA.
Mrs. Sutphin was an active member of Branchville Methodist Church as secretary, organist, choir member, Cancer Sewing Group, Women’s Society, and the church thrift shop. She volunteered at Newton Medical Center for 23 years. She was a 66 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey and Past Matron of Northern Chapter #38 and Starlight Chapter #107, Past Matron’s Club of Chapter #38 for 20 years, and member of Lodge #60 in Branchville. She was also a member of Branchville and Lafayette Seniors Club, charter member of Branchville Historical Society, Administrative Secretary to the Principal of High Point Regional High School for over 26 years, Sussex County Council of Churches, New Jersey Retired Educators Association, Frankford Twp. Fire Co. Auxiliary, and plane spotters.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 8 at the United Methodist Church in Branchville, with visitation from 10am to 11am and Eastern Star and Funeral Services at 11am. Interment will follow at the Branchville Cemetery on Pine Road.
