Ambrose Clayton Vidrine

Ambrose Clayton Vidrine (Pee Wee), 92, passed away on 9 February 2026 at Golden Age VI Nursing home in Modesto, California He was born on October 2, 1933, in Opelousas, Louisiana to Curley and Thelma (Perry) Vidrine.

A memorial service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Chur ch, 500 Fairview Ave, Brentwood, CA. at 10:00 am Monday June 8th. A reception be held immediately after the service at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. The family will be greeting friends and relatives. Burial will be the following day at Sacramento National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon CA. Tuesday morning the 9th of June at 9:30 am.

Ambrose grew up in Opelousas, Louisiana. He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Opelousas, Louisiana, in 1952. After high school he:

• joined the United States Navy in July of 1952, during the Korean War and server for 5 years. He was discharged from the US Navy in 1957 as an Aviation Engine Mechanic 2nd Class.

• began work for United Air Lines as a Jet Engine Mechanic and Aircraft Inspector where he worked for 37 years. He retired in 1994.

• Ambrose was a devout Catholic and a member of The Church of the Ascension in Saratoga California.

Ambrose married Sara Graham in 1957 in Santa Clara, California. They were happily married for 70 years. He enjoyed Playing Golf, Camping and Fishing, and loved to Travel. He loved working with his hands, he could fix anything.

Ambrose was preceded in death by his Parents Curley and Thelma, his sisters Jessie Rose Gibson, Norma Jean TuJaque, Yvonne McGuier, his daughter Yvonne Louise Cook.

Ambrose is survived by his spouse Sara Louise Vidrine, of Modesto, California, his son James Vidrine his wife Tammy of Saint Pauls, North Carolina. His daughter Jennifer and her husband John Schlupp of Brentwood, California. Ambrose has 7 Grand Children and 16 Great Grand Children.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The Cancer Society, The Department of Vetrans Affairs, or The Lung Association.
