My Papa was everything a grandfather should be.  He picked on me and loved me as well.  He taught me to be tough and take the things life hands me. Without Papa I wouldn't be such a strong young woman.  I still remember the times he yelled at me to stop crying! Of course at the age that young age I would continue to cry. But over time I became stronger because he was tough on me. Papa was a crack up as everyone knows. He loved his middle finger and making sure everyone knew it! Growing up with him as my grandfather made my life easier because he taught me not to take crap from anyone (even him). ! Papa, I know you’re in a better place up there, but I sure do miss you! I love you so much forever and always!

I had the pleasure of meeting Tony one night after a night of drinking with Kimmy.  I never laughed so much in my life.  He was always the center of attention at one of our camping trips over the years.  He introduced me to Baklava, he made the best.  You will be missed Tony.  Julie Reid

It's so very hard to say goodbye to you grandpa Tony! I will always remember when I was little you would take my nose in your hand and put salt and pepper on it and pretend to eat it but this is only one of the many memories I have of you that I hold very dear to my heart. I know now that the things you did to me as a kid and your stern but loving direction helped make me the person I am today. Your humor was one of a kind and I could always count on you making me laugh. I am very sad to know that Emma will not have the chance to know you personally but she will know who you are through the many stories we all share with her. I know you are in a better place now and know that you are watching over us all.

grandpa tony, how you have change my life in ways nobody could ever imagine. from days as a toddler learning my manners, to more recently. joining the U.S navy to follow in your footsteps. im so proud to have someone like you in my life,as a role model and a friend, someone to look up to when times got rough. continue looking onto us with fierce eyes, keeping us in line, for when my entrance to the pearly gates arrive, im hoping you be there, right by my side. love you grandpa

Tony was a great father-in-law.  He loved to give me a hard time (as he did many people), but I enjoyed all the time we spent together golfing, fishing, and our morning ritual during our visits!  I learned a lot from him and miss him so very much.

Words cannot begin to express the loss our family is experiencing right now. I am greatful that you are no longer suffering and are at peace. I am very blessed to have been given the opportunity to call you my Papa. You have played a big role in my life. I am greatful for all of the memories we have together especially Christmas Eve 1999 when we shared a little too much Ouzo.... OPA !!! I am very thankful that DJ had the opportunity to meet you =] Thank You for the support and all that you have done for our family. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever!! Tony,Tony,Tony, What are we going to do without your ever so soft spoken charm " Oops" wrong Tony, Over the past ten years plus you have been a true friend to Sue and me, with the drink you always insisted we have to the extra BBQ ribs we didn't need 
To your great wit and charm ( most of the time ) to stories that that should be novels. We enjoyed you as a fellow Corvetter's and golf partner and being the great friend that you were to us.
You will truly be missed by Sue and me.

Even though I only got together with Tony when Bob and Kim had family gatherings he always greeted me like I was also part of the family.  I loved talking to him, it was so easy.  I especially remember the Corvette days when him and Carla would come to Kim's home in their Corvette.  They looked like they were having so much fun and so young.  I know he will be missed.

Words can not express the sadness of all of our loss. Tony was such a big part of my life, and I am gratfeul for the time we shared, from summers on the delta aboard the Rum Runner, to taking us out fishing in the little boat--  We've had such great times with you and mom and many memories to cherish. So happy the the kids had some time with you and you will always be their papa. We love you with all our hearts, you left us way too soon. We know that god holds you in his hands now. Rest in Peace Tony Silva...Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same;
but as God calls us,one by one,
The chain will link again.

Tony took me fishing for rock-cod and Salmon many times when I was a teenager. I'll never forget those times, they are forever eteched in my memory. I'll miss him greatly.

Tony was like family to my Jim and a good friend to me always.  He and Jim were friends for 48 years and losing him has been very hard.   Tony was very blessed that his wonderful wife Carla was with him and continued nurturing him with her love.   His memory will always be with us.  Our prayers are with his entire family. As I think back over many years of Tony being in our lives I have to say that I am the man I am today because of him. I am sad that my son will not have a Papa in his life but am glad you got to meet and hold him before you left us. We miss and love you!!!!

We love and miss you Tony!  You were such an important part of our lives and we are grateful for all the time we were able to share with you and especially for how happy you made Mom over the years.  We have a lot of great memories that we will cherish for years to come.
