Born in Rocky River, OH, Ardel worked for over 30 years for Chevron. She retired in 1999. While at Chevron, she was an accountant and held a supervisor role.
After retirement, Ardel traveled, was on a bowling league and was secretary of the Computer Club in the community where she resided. In the Computer Club, Ardel was able to teach her neighbors all about computers. She loved passing on knowledge and knowing she helped someone learn something new.
Ardel was preceded in death by her mother, father and siblings. She is survived by nieces and nephews: Tammy (Karner) Craig, Jill Karner, Jack Karner Jr., Mollie (Karner) Peless, Debbie Mitchell, Pam (Mitchell) Dawson, Virginia (Mitchell) Sobarnia, Richard W. Mitchell III, Arther Mitchell, and Julie (Mitchell) Haggard. In addition, she is survived by her very close friends, Lois Riddle, Marilyn McDavid and James McDavid.
