Arthur Dominick D’Amico passed away on Saturday April 2, 2011. Art was born in Concrete Washington to James & Antoinette D’Amico. He served in the Army before receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1943. He loved spending time at the horse races & playing cards with his friends. He loved to travel in his motor home and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He spent many summers at Clear Lake, where he boated and water skied with his family. He enjoyed having breakfast every day at his son’s diner.
He was a native of El Cerrito, where he owned, Contra Costa Concrete, before turning it over to his son.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marie D’Amico. He is survived by his son James D’Amico, daughter in law, Brenda, daughters, Cookie Bedell, Jeanette Zanotelli, Judy Day, Jilda Fairhurst, son in laws Tim Day and John Fairhurst. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Smith, brother Dominick Capurso, and brother in law Sonny Bruno. He has 30 grandchildren and 27 Great grandchildren.
His spunky and hard headed Italian attitude will be missed by many, he had a heart of Gold.
Friends and Family are invited to a visitation on, Thursday April 7th , from 5pm – 7 pm, Rosary at 7pm, at Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 First St, Brentwood, CA 94513. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 8th, at 11 am, at St. Anthony’s Church, 971 O’Hara Avenue, Oakley, CA 94561. Burial to Follow at Oak View Memorial Park, 2500 East 18th St, Antioch, CA 94509.
