Augustus John Daugherty

Augustus John Daugherty, Sr. is survived by his children, Augustus John Daugherty, Jr. in Santa Cruz, CA, Paul Douglas Daugherty in Woodland, CA and Katherine Grace McDonald in Brentwood, CA, daughter-in-law, Michelle Daugherty in Woodland, CA and his sister, Juanita Albert in Sacramento, CA.

Augustus John Daugherty, Sr. was born on December 5, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to Carl Daugherty and Evelyn Fehlau. He graduated high school and received specialized training as a computer programmer. After moving to Dayton, Ohio, he began working for National Cash Register (NCR) as a computer programmer. His children remember him as a loving father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. He was a proud grandfather to Chelsey McDonald, Robert Daugherty, Lindsey McDonald, Aimee McDonald and Patrick Daugherty, who lovingly knew him as “Papa Man”. He was also an accomplished author of the book “Running for your Life with COPD, Emphysema”. Augustus was an award-winning 3D artist. He was active in the community with daily walks and known as the “runner with the hat”.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled at the family’s residence in Brentwood on December 14, 2025, from 1 PM-4 PM. The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this time. His spirit, creativity and love will always be with us.
