

Carmen Novero Longtime Resident of Oakley Jun. 15, 1937 - Mar. 5, 2013 Carmen Novero passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with her loving family by her side. She touched many lives with her loving spirit and will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Carmen was born in Martinez, CA to Josefa (Lopez) and Jose Berumen, both previously deceased. She graduated from Liberty Union High in Brentwood. Carmen worked at Knightsen, Brentwood and Byron Schools and Bett's Hallmark. She was a founding member of the Knightsen Youth Association and a Community and Project Leader for the Knightsen 4-H Club for several years. She attended St. Anthony Catholic Church and was also a catechism teacher. She enjoyed taking trips to Reno, playing bocce, crocheting, needlepoint, watching the Olympics and Dodger games as well as playing video and board games. Carmen is survived by her "Honey" husband and best friend of 56 years Guido; her daughter Sylvia, her daughter Gabriella; her daughter, Kathi Burris, and her husband, Don, and their children Krysta, Erica, Kyle and Sarah; her son, Dino, and his wife, Vera, and their daughters Marissa and Francesca. David, her youngest son preceded her in death. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 5-7 pm Rosary 7 pm at the Brentwood Funeral Home. Funeral service on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Oakley. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to: St. Anthony Catholic Church, Oakley or The American Diabetes Association .
