Together they had 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Ernie began his career at Ford Motor Company in 1960 and worked for over 50 years. He worked at most every plant in North America, plus Canada, Mexico and Venezuela. He started on the assembly line in Detroit and ended his career as a Vehicle Operations Quality Engineer. Ernie devoted much of his life to his career and took a great deal of pride in his work and those he worked with.
After retiring Ernie devoted more time to his beloved parish, St. Anne’s Catholic Church. He loved taking pictures and began doing so at many of their events. He was honored to be an active charter member of the Knights of Columbus St. Anne’s Council.
His passion was serving the community through the Food Bank and other projects for people in need. In 2005 Ernie was diagnosed with prostate cancer which was contained for many years and later diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. In his last year both diseases would take their toll and Ernie eventually lost his battle with both. He was surrounded by his wife, children and friend. Ernie placed incredible value on his family, his extended Ford and St. Anne’s family and friends. He made an impact on everyone he encountered and will be missed by many.
