

Jean was born on August 2, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Ervin James Williams and Mary Ellen Williams (Grenia). She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ruth.
Jean found great joy in spending time with her family and friends and cherished the moments they shared together. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing, knitting, crocheting, visiting the senior center, and, of course, a good Pepsi. Jean will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her children, Kimberly and Joe DeVera of Columbia, Kentucky, and David and Jaclyn Ruth of Oakley, California; her seven grandchildren, David Ruth, Danielle Taylor, Caitlin Ruth, DeAnza DeVera, Anthony DeVera, David DeVera, and Derek Ruth; and her two great-grandchildren, Jimmy Ruth and Brooklynne Ruth.
She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce English of Michigan and Emma Hill of California; her cousin, Debbie Kemp of California; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 First Street, Brentwood, California.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak View Memorial Park Cemetery, 2500 East 18th Street, Antioch, California.
A reception will follow immediately following the graveside.
Jean’s love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
