A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend, Keen leaves behind a lasting legacy of kindness, intelligence, and dedication. He is survived by his four children, a stepson, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, who will carry on his memory and spirit.
Keen was a respected psychologist who devoted over 20 years to helping others before retiring. He volunteered at the Boys Club and with several pro-peace organizations. His compassion and understanding touched the lives of many, and he found great fulfillment in his work.
Keen continued to be a listening ear and he lent his wisdom and support to those close to his heart.
A true man of diverse passions, Keen had an enduring love for wine, music, travel, and the arts. He was an avid collector and purveyor of rock poster art, a lover of counterculture literature, and Japanese culture. He had a particular fondness for writing and, in 2012, undertook an incredible journey from London to California to retrace his family's history. His experiences from this journey became the basis for a heartfelt book, preserving the stories of his ancestors for future generations.
Keen was also an avid martial artist and a proud member of the Northern California Naginata Federation. His discipline and respect for the martial arts were deeply rooted in his philosophy of balance and personal growth. His love for cats was well known, and he often found solace and joy in the companionship of his feline friends.
Keen life was marked by his curiosity, generosity, and dedication to living authentically. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of compassion, exploration, and joy will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
