

Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta Anderson; 3 children, 7 stepchildren, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is remembered as kind, loving and having a great sense of humor. He was nick named “Handy Andy” by many as he was often the go to person when family members or friends needed something fixed or made.
Andy was born on April 21, 1928 in Aurora, Illinois to Anska and Alice Anderson. He was in the U.S. Navy from 12/7/1945 to 12/31/1947 during World War II and served on the USS ANTIETAM (DV 36). He was a Seaman First Class and received credit for Victory of WW II and the Philippine Independence.
He raised his family while working for Beckman Instruments as a manufacturing engineer and retired in 1990.
Andy was an accomplished wood worker and an original member of the Diablo Woodworkers. He was an avid fisherman and passionate about square dancing. He belonged to motor home groups and traveled the United States. He enjoyed attending church and was a dedicated member of Hilltoppers Fellowship.
In the past few years, he and Loretta loved to travel internationally and enjoyed Australia, New Zealand, Spain and China.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, April 21st, at Golden Hills Community Church, 2401 Shady Willow Lane in Brentwood, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Andy’s life.
