Praxedes Alvarez Mariano

Praxedes Alvarez Mariano, also known as BLANCA, went to be with the Lord in her daughter’s home in Oakley, California on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the age of 91. Blanca is survived by her children: Grace, Joy & Joel; sons-in-law: Alvin & Joedy; daughter-in-law: Emilynn; grandchildren: Alvianne, Gabriel, Sophia & Santino, and her sister, Pacita. Her final moments were spent peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.

Blanca was known for being a loving and disciplinarian mother to her children, a strict but compassionate schoolteacher for over two decades, and a cheerful giver, especially to her relatives and church leaders. Besides her dedication to molding young minds, Blanca was also known to have a sweet and powerful voice that had brought life to church services. She was also known to be the most sought-after hairstylist in her town during her time. She will be dearly missed by all who knows her.

A celebration of life is scheduled on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 9AM to 11AM at Brentwood Funeral Home, located at 839 1st St., Brentwood, CA 94513. A reception will follow at Lone Tree Buffet at 6281 Lone Tree Way, Brentwood, CA 94513. Pastor Darrell Arnold will officiate the ceremony.
