Ray was born in Berkeley, CA and attended school in Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School in 1965. Ray met the love of his life, Rosa A Roche, in 1962 and was united in holy matrimony in 1966. He attended Cal State Hayward University, and graduated on the Dean's List with a degree in Business Administration. In May 1966, Ray enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for 4 years.
In 1970, he started working for Pacific Bell and later was promoted to Manager of Human Resources. In 1996, Ray retired from Pacific Bell and received his Real Estate License. To further his Real Estate career, Ray received his Brokers License in 2006 where he was a long time broker for over 20 years. Ray was employed by Mason McDuffie, Prudential, and Berkshire Hathaway.
Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He instilled in his children and grandchildren the same values his mother passed on to him, of the importance of maintaining strong family bonds, and acquiring an education.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 55 years, Rosa (Rose), his daughter Lisa, his two sons Raymond Jr. and Steve, 8 grandchildren Laura, Angelique, Melissa, Raymond III, Christopher Jr., Eric, Jaden, and Jaxon. 5 great-grandchildren Isaiah, Leila, Nelson, Piper and Elijah.
Ray touched many lives, and is loved by many people. Ray will truly be missed by all.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 12pm on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 First St., Brentwood, CA 94513. The Interment will follow the Celebration of Life at Oak View Memorial Park Cemetery, 2500 E 18th St., Antioch, CA 94509.
