

He was born to Harry and Esther Meyer both of California in 1927 in San Francisco. Dick worked for a number of years for Standard Oil of San Francisco. He went to work for Contra Costa County Assessor’s Office in 1962. He retired in 1985 as a supervising appraiser. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sister, Donna Webb, of Southern California and two daughters from a previous marriage, Susan Hilse of Missouri and Carol Tangeman of San Luis Obispo, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, two nieces and three nephews and two step children.
Dick enjoyed his retirement. His favorite place was Lake Tahoe and he and the family spent many happy times at the family cabin on the west shore. Dick and Shirley also enjoyed many happy times taking cruises to a number of countries in Europe, Asia and South America.
Dick was a very kind natured and loving husband and father and will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
