

.William “Bill” Boyd Page, 84, of Discovery Bay, California, passed away, Sunday, December 4th after a lengthy and heroic battle with pulmonary fibrosis and cancer. He was a humble man with a gentle soul and charismatic personality. He had an unwavering commitment and love for his family.
Bill, son of the late Raymond Page and Helen Gardiner was born March 30, 1932 in Oakland, California. He graduated from Hinsdale High School in Hinsdale, Illinois in 1950 and was accepted to, and attended the prestigious Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina from 1950 to 1952. Bill joined the Air Force in 1952 where he served for four years as a fighter pilot. He was part of the Tactical Air Command where he and and an elite group of pilots flew the first fighter jets, including the F86 and F100. He later received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from the University of Southern California in 1962.
He was united in holy matrimony to Nancy Jean Doland in October of 1960, a union that would go on to last fifty-six years. This union was blessed with three children.
Bill worked in sales and distribution for the Oil and Gas Industry for over 50 years. Early in his career, he worked for Harvey Aluminum and France Compressor Parts. In 1965 he opened up his own business, Mechanical Components and Service (MCS) where he ran and operated it until his passing.
Bill was an accomplished tennis player who is said to have walked on the tennis team at the Citadel, beating the number one player in the first match of the year.
He was an avid golfer who shot his age at 76. It is quite an accomplishment that most golfers don’t get to achieve in their lifetime. After 33 years of playing the game, he finally scored two holes in one within a year of each other.
Bill was kind, loving and generous, especially when it came to his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, compassionate heart and well-timed sense of humor.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Raymond Page of Brentwood, CA, Joe Page of Concord, CA and Barbara Page of Discovery Bay, CA.; daughter-in-law Laura Page of Brentwood, CA; two grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Page of Brentwood, CA; sister Sue Ohrenschall of Tiburon, CA, as well as a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
