Beatrice Sutton Scarlata

She will be sadly missed by her beloved sons Robert (Rhonda), Richard (Melanie), and Christopher (Patrice), and their families; LCDR Gabrielle Cunningham (Mark), Sydney Scarlata, Miranda Scarlata, Jessica Norella, Sophia Norella (Randy), Olivia Norella and four great-grandchildren.

She also leaves her brother, Ronald Sutton (Christy) of Carson City, Nevada, her stepsister, Margot Whiteside of Toronto, Ontario and sister-in-law, Donna Sutton of Toronto, Ontario, along with five nieces and two nephews.

Shortly after graduation from Forest Hill Village High School in Toronto, she attended the Traphagen Fashion Institute in New York City. She and Bob married in 1950, and subsequently moved to Croton-on-Hudson, NY, and then Montville, NJ. Bea worked in the corporate world for thirteen years, and then returned to school. She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Services from Montclair State University, in 1986.

After Bob retired from AT&T in 1989, the couple lived in New Bern, NC, for three years. They moved to Brentwood in 1992. Bob chose early retirement to pursue his love of golf and tennis, while Bea continued to work as a Licensed Professional Counselor, a pursuit she found very rewarding and fulfilling.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Health Care Center at Richland Place as well as compassionate caregivers Lynn Steen and Suzi Heath for their great help and support.

Her family will receive friends at the Brentwood Roesch Patton Funeral Home located at 9010 Church Street, Brentwood, TN from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Friday, January 10th.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, 200 24th Avenue South, Nashville, TN at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 11th with Associate Chaplain Scott Owings officiating.

Following the funeral services, the family invites friends and relatives to a reception at the Church.

Note: Where you’re going all looks like a construction zone that will not allow you passage. It will. Follow the directions below very slowly & carefully & you’ll get there….

Walking Directions to St Augustine’s “A Frame” Chapel On Vanderbilt University Campus…assuming parked on West End or nearby corner of West End & 24th Avenue South

1) Park as close as you can to the corner of West End Avenue and 24th Avenue South [Homewood Suites is on that corner, 2400 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN…that you can use for gps purposes]….there is meter parking on both sides of West End Avenue there.

2) 24th Avenue South towards Vanderbilt Campus: Sidewalk to the left of 24th Avenue South as you walk east towards the campus [away from the Homewood Suites]….the sidewalk on the left – you’ll see two high brick towers to the left and a chain link fence immediately to the right of the sidewalk….take that walkway about 100 yards up a slight rise….you’ll come to an area where there is a stone wall on the left.

3) As you cross several road entry ways to the left, continue on the sidewalk, you’ll see a sign to St. Augustine Chapel continue to the end of the sidewalk take a left up the stairs to the Tri Delta sorority…a two story brick building with two square columns.] Walk on the grass to the right ...cross a temporary bridge onto the patio immediately in front of the Chapel and lobby.

Driving Directions To The Back of The “A-Frame” Chapel for Drop Off Only – No Parking:

1) 24th Avenue South Off West End Towards the Campus [heading east].

2) Chain link fence on the left as you’re driving east on 24th avenue south into what is a dead end.

3) Take the 2nd roadway entry way on the left [behind the two tall Brick Towers]…the turn is only about 75 yards from West End

4) Make the 1st right about 40 yards from 24th Avenue South onto a dirt road

5) Go 100 yds….beige one story building on the right….four spots in the back…dirt parking lot….for drop off only……stairs/ramp to the left to get into the Chapel.
