She was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie Justice and John Martin Frey; brother, Jerry; sisters, Muriel, Katherine, Rose (Bosey), Jean, Jo, and her husband of 63 years, Frank Ozburn. She is survived by a brother, Bud and sister, Betty; daughter, Patsy, and sons, Perry (Elaine), Marty (Julia), and Danny (Genia); 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dot grew up in Coopertown, TN, was valedictorian of her class, and left home to work briefly for DuPont in Old Hickory, prior to entering nursing school at St. Thomas Hospital. She worked for the Public Health Department in San Diego and Nashville until Frank returned home from serving in the Navy during World War II. She was a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist Church and leaves many friends in her Red Letter Sunday school class. Always a fierce competitor, she took up golf at age 40 and went on to win the Brentwood Club championship 3 times.
Nano, as her grandchildren called her, will be sorely missed for her love, constant smile, piercing blue eyes and deep concern for others. Her family takes great comfort knowing she is at peace with the God she always loved and trusted.
Services and visitation will be at Brentwood Funeral Home on Friday, March 28th at 3 o'clock. Visitation will be from 1-3, with the service immediately following. Burial and a private family service will be at Triune United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift in her honor to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements under the direction of Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, Brentwood, TN.
