Frances was born in Alexandria, LA on May 16th, 1957.
She was predeceased by her parents, Norman Lee Gunn, Sr. and Dixie Breithaupt Gunn, her younger brother Lewell Sadler Gunn, and her former husband and father of her children, John Quentin Dick, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Ashley Dick Guidry, (Kyle), of Baton Rouge, LA, and John Quentin Dick, Jr., of Hammond, LA; brother Norman Lee, “Duke,” Gunn, Jr., (Pam), of Charlotte, NC; sister Sarah, “Sally,” Hoskins, (Mark), of Lafayette, LA, and her loving husband James Stader Richardson, Jr. of Franklin, TN, along with his children, James Stader Richardson, III and Leigh Taylor Richardson, (Stefan Baskin), of Nashville, TN.
She is also survived by the greatest loves of her life, grandchildren Myles Guidry and Grey Guidry of Baton Rouge, LA and Conrad Manso, Marlee Dick, and Paydyn Dick of Hammond, LA.
She shared a special, deeply personal bond with her lifelong best friend Denise Laborde Durbin of Alexandria, LA.
Frances and Stader’s sister, Taylor Powers, also of Franklin, TN, were sisters-in-love and masters of the estate sale.
She also shared a wonderous love with a very young friend, Hailey Deyo, also of Franklin, TN, whom she tutored, and from whom she learned.
Frances graduated from Holy Savior Menard High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Louisiana, (USL), in Lafayette, LA and her Master’s Degree in Education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA.
She retired after thirty-five years from the Louisiana Department of Education where she served her professional life as both teacher and administrator.
Frances was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Brentwood, TN, where she leaves and is mourned by many close friends in Christ.
She was a member of the Junior League of Alexandria and later served as a Sustainer in the Junior League of Baton Rouge. Frances spent her life as a willing and joyous volunteer to the many causes special to her heart.
A lifelong sports fan, her passion for all things LSU was as legendary as that of her family's. After moving to Nashville, she remained loyal to the New Orleans Saints, and quickly found herself an avid fan of the Nashville Predators hockey team; even more recently, of “her” Cincinnati Bengals.
Frances could be found most days in the beautiful gardens of her back yard, where she found a special peace alongside mother nature. She was also a talented interior decorator, willing to redecorate at a moment’s notice. From painting to laying tile, no job was too daunting, and her tool chest was much larger than her husband’s.
Frances was loved and will be missed. By all.
