James went to Illinois Benedictine University and graduated with his Bachelor's in Financing. He worked for many years as a software consultant providing for his family. James was a devoted father who loved his children. He supported them in anything they wanted from on the sidelines of football games to in the pit at the race track. James was a member of the 12th Man Club and the Nashville Dinner Club.
James is survived by his sons, Chad Barker, and Ryan Barker; stepson Joseph Clark; brother, David (Gina) Barker; sisters, Linda (John) Murray, and Janet (Richard) MacInnis along with many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends for James will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Brentwood Roesch Patton Funeral Home, 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN 37027, followed by a celebration of life from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
