

James Robert Porter Sr. “Jim”, age 82 of Brentwood, Tennessee passed on December 12, 2025. He was born in Arrington (Triune), Tennessee on June 12, 1943. Preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Porter, who passed on June 18, 2025. They were married on December 18, 1963.

Grandchildren: Andrew Farrell (Hannah), Grace Farrell, Jenna Worth (Mackenzie), Annie Porter, Sam Porter
Siblings: Linda Jones, Vicky Mayfield, Kendal Porter (Deborah), Patricia Rowland (Brent), Mark Porter (Sheila), Keith Porter (Marjie)
Jim graduated from College Grove High School in 1961 and from University of Tennessee, Knoxville BS Agriculture in 1967.
Jim was passionate about his faith, family, friends, travel, golfing, and fishing. Bobbie was the love of his life; they were married for 62 years. Jim’s family will always know him as the leader and one to give faithful and loving support in times of need. As an active member of Brentwood United Methodist Church for approximately 25 years (Joyful Noise Sunday School Class), Jim was actively involved in various Christian mission programs. Jim also served as a Deacon and an Elder at his previous church, Tusculum Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Jim was a member of both Brentwood Country Club (Tennessee) and Bonita Bay Club (Florida) where he created lifelong friendships.
Jim was an enthusiastic traveler where he created memories, worldwide, with his wife Bobbie, children, and grandchildren.
Jim’s Professional Career
Owner & President of Inca Molded Products for Thirty-Eight Years, a plastics manufacturing company located in West Nashville. Jim was the inventor of the plastic fuel tank that is used in the marine industry.
Jim traveled extensively with Bobbie as well as his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
