

Mrs. Ruth Bradley Thompson passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2012, just three days after her 92nd birthday. Born in Napier, TN on August 27, 1920, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Katherine S. Bradley and the oldest of six siblings. Mrs. Thompson was married for 50 years to Fletcher Thompson of Lawrenceburg, TN, who preceded her in death in 1990. In Lawrenceburg they raised two sons, Fred D. Thompson and Ken D. Thompson. Ruth was a devoted mother, dedicated homemaker, loving wife and a woman of deep faith. While in Lawrenceburg she and her husband were longtime members of First Street Church of Christ. When widowed, Ruth moved to Franklin, TN to be closer to her grown sons, grandchildren and other family members. While in Franklin she was a member of Brentwood Church of Christ where she made many friends who showed her great kindness and support over the years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by three siblings Freda Enlow, Juanita Videmsek and Barbara Ann Willingham as well as her granddaughter, Betsy Thompson Panici. She is survived by her two sons: Fred D. Thompson (Jeri) of McLean, VA and Ken D. Thompson (Kathy) of Spring Hill, TN; grandchildren: Fred D. “Tony” Thompson, Jr. (Molly) of Brentwood, Daniel L. Thompson (Mara) of Nashville, Hayden Thompson and Sam Thompson, both of McLean and Victoria Thompson and Jonathan Thompson, both of Spring Hill. She is also survived by her brother, CW Bradley (Helen) and a sister, Reba Vines both of Florence, Alabama as well 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Saturday, September 1st from 5 to 7 PM at Brentwood Funeral Home located at 9010 Church Street, Brentwood, TN and September 2nd from 1 to 2 PM at Brentwood Church of Christ. Funeral service, led by Tim Beever and Tim Hill, takes place at Brentwood Church of Christ at 2 PM on September 2nd with graveside service in Lawrenceburg the same day at approximately 5 PM at Mimosa Cemetery. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Visiting Angels, particularly Susan Kling, everyone at Alive Hospice and all of her friends and church members, especially Ann Moses, who regularly checked in on her over the years and provided love and comfort in her last days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Brentwood Church of Christ at 208 Granny White Pike Brentwood, TN 37027.
