Mrs. West was born on February 10, 1914 in North Lewisburg, Ohio, daughter of John and Mary Immel. Mrs. West graduated from Wittenberg College, Ohio, in 1925, where she was a member of Chi Omega. She received her Masters degree in Music Education from Texas A&M Kingsville in 1958. She married Owen West of Urbana, Ohio in 1941 and resided in North Lewisburg, Ohio. In 1954, they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and remained there until she moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area in 1997 to be close to her family. She taught music and English in Ohio and English in Texas with the Corpus Christi Independent School District. In Corpus Christi, she was active in the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Chi Omega Alumni Association.
Mrs. West is survived by her son, Roger; daughter-in-law, Kati; granddaughter, Adrienne; grandson, Evan; great-granddaughter, Olivia; three nephews, and three nieces.
Mrs. West was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, and three brothers.
Mrs. West will be returning to her beloved Corpus Christi as her final resting place.
