Mr. Tyree was a native of Lewisburg, Tennessee, the son of the late Frank and Sallie Lee Dennis Tyree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Lou (Peery) Tyree of Brentwood and his sister, Mary Ann Tyree Roberts of Lewisburg.
Mr. Tyree was retired from Southern Shoe Machinery Company where he was the Plant Manager after receiving his Mechanical Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, he was a member of the football team. He was a member of the Concord Road Church of Christ and also attended Woodmont Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Annabelle Crisler, daughter, Peggy (Jim) Flowers of Cary, North Carolina and sons, Frank (Pat) Tyree of Brentwood, Ben (Susan) Tyree of Brentwood, Bob Tyree, Jeff King of Brentwood, Clay King of Birmingham and three sisters, Frances Tyree Miller of Nashville, Ruth Tyree Shoaf of Whites Creek, and Doris Tyree Webb of Lewisburg, and one brother, David Tyree of Dallas, Texas, Eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren,
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to one of the following organizations: Beyond the Horizon Corporation(www.camphorizontn.org), a free camp experience for childhood cancer patients, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Nashville, TN, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
