Barbara Ann Mason

MASON, Barbara Ann Brisendine, age 82, of Brooksville, FL, formerly of Frame, West Virginia, died at home on October 3, 2015 following a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving children, Roger “Butch” Mason, Vickie Lynn Rowe, Bryan Mason and Mary Dawn Lyons.  She drove taxi for 30 years in the Brooksville area, some of which were Red’s Cab, Diamond Cab with Red Lawrence Wise and AAA Taxi.  She owned and operated Barbara’s Taxi and later was co-owner/driver of B & F Taxi with Frances Griffin.  She was well known in the Brooksville community and loved by all who knew her.  She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Reginald Mason; daughters, Marcia Kay Shade and Sheila Ann Budowski, parents, Irvin and Mable Brisendine and sister, Evelyn Mason. Along with her children, she is also survived by her sisters & brother-in-law: Joyce & Jack Moles of Dunbar, WV; Shirley Jones of Elkview, WV; Marilyn “Cookie” Swisher of Hammond, IN; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be 6-8:00pm, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00am, Friday, October 9, 2015. Interment will follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
