He was born September 24, 1929 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to this area 21 years ago from Orlando, Florida. He served in the United States Navy, worked as an executive for a supermarket and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Julia Young; son: Russell Young; daughters: Lynn Armstrong, Claire Greenwood and Janet Richardson; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Clyde Woodard, Misti Humfleet, Erman Woodard, Leo Brass, Henry Brass, Connie Dodd, Bishop Brass, Jody Woodard and Melanie Langworthy; 35 step-grandchildren; 45 step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren.
