Jeanette and family - Mark and I send our condolences for the loss of your mighty man of God. We will always remember his friendly and happy disposition at church - and his booming voice. This verse makes us think of him, and we can hear him quoting it:O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Honoring the memory of my dear sweet father Edelmiro Soto. My father Eric, my friend and my spiritual mentor has been a dedicated man of God for as long as I can remember, and is the reason I am passionate about my belief in God and His precious son Jesus. Through good times and the rough times, my father has always been a rock and a godly example for my family. Even near death, dad caused people to look to Jesus... I just want to say I am privileged to have been raised by such a godly man, and I will always be his little girl "martita". Dad, I will meet you so in the air someday...hold down a spot for me, I will be there. I love you dad.1 Thessalonians 4:16-1816For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I am so glad that I will see my brother again. He loves Jesus so much. I know he is having a blast in heaven...he was a great soul winner and an awesome Gideon. Loved doing prison ministry...what a legacy..he like Enoch had a testimony that he pleased God...he fought the good fight, he kept the faith, he finished his course with joy...a crown of righteousness is his which we will lay at the feet of Jesus because if it wasn't for the finish work of Christ, none of us would make to heaven..

He was so much loved and will be sadly missed by many, so our hearts leave you with this poem.A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.  The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.  Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.  My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. We met Jeanette and Eric through Jeanine, Jeanette's sister.  May all who have known the Soto family thank Our Lord for sharing Eric with us in this earthly life and pray that we will meet Eric again in the fullness of life and happiness in heaven.  With the grace of Our Lord, we will all be united once again in paradise.

Uncle Eric will truly be missed.  He was a true man of God and an awesome example of Gods love.  We love and miss you Uncle Eric.

My condolences to Jeanette and the family.  I remember Eric from his time living in North Vernon, IN.  My mom worked part-time for Jeanette as a keypunch operator and as a child she would take us to the Soto house when she worked.  Eric was a servant of God even back then and would always watch over us as mom worked.  He also would let me "help" him at his print shop in town sometimes.  I don't think I really helped a lot but he always made me think I was his #1 employee!  I know he will be truly missed here but I'm also quite sure he's hard at work "upstairs".  Once again, on behalf of my mom Beverly and the rest of my family I am truly sorry for your loss but happy for God's gain.

I pray God is with you all through this. Im sure your going to make Eric proud and make it.

"The Audible Voice Of God"As my walk with The Lord grew, I was a little confused about hearing The Lords voice. I knew that I heard Him talking to me in an audible voice. As I gave accounts of my experience, others were telling me that, that is not the way God speaks to you. I knew in my heart it was God but then started to doubt myself. Then when I went down to Florida for Nate and Danica's wedding. We went to visit Grandpa & Grandma Soto. It was then, that Grandpa Soto told me about the time he was going to Edinburgh ( I think to camp Atterbury) something had happen on his way there. Then he said I heard God speak to me, just as we are speaking now.  In an audible voice!....My heart started to beat real fast and I got excited! I told Grandpa about my experiences and that people doubted what I had spoke of.......Grandpa Soto, touched my hand and looked at me and said, "It is true, God will speak to you in an audible voice. Sometimes to get our attention, He has to do just that. Don't let others come between you and your relationship with God cause, that's one thing they know nothing about. That is for you and The Lord Himself"! ......It was as if God used Grandpa as a vessel to let me know, "YES! It was Me you heard"!......Since that day, I hold my head high, smile and speak with certainty, when I talk about my accounts with The Lord! Thanks Grandpa!! That moment with you, will always be something I will hold dear in my heart!.....I know your walking The Streets Of Gold! Please keep a watch over me! .... You will be missed but not forgotten!

Uncle Eric was a man after GOD'S own heart.  He was truly focused on Jesus and Family.  Uncle Eric has ALREADY heard "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant", and he has already been to the Supper Table.  I CAN ONLY IMAGINE that by the time the funeral occurs here, Uncle Eric is talking with Jonah asking Jonah what was going through his mind when he saw the whale coming toward him.  LUKE 23:43!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry for your loss Jeanette. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.Take care.

Jeanette and family - prayers of sympathy and support during this time.  Seeing this brought back instant memories of long ago - working at Reliance in Columbus and our plans for future adventures.

Eric was the best brother-in-law ever. He was a faithful husband to my sister and a loving father to his 4 children. We all loved his wonderful sense of humor and his endearing accent that he thought he had lost years ago. Those of us who knew him found him faithful. He actually did practice what he preached. Eric, we will always love you and miss you but we have the Blessed Assurance that we will see you again in the sweet bye and bye.

You were my helping hand to me and my family when we came from Puerto Rico there is no words how to describe our gratitude for your unselfish friendship.  I know very well that you are now enjoying the presence of The Lord and we will miss you.  But soon and very soon we all be together praising The Lord.

It was a honor and privilege to know Eric, he was one of the finest Christian gentlemen Connie and I ever met. We know Eric will be a valuable asset to Yeshua, ruling and reigning with Him in New Jerusalem. Eric was a faithful and generous partner to our ministry, The Watchman Report, and he stored up his treasures in heaven. He earned a wonderful crown in heaven for his Christian generosity. If more people were like the Christ follower Eric there would be less sin, war and violence in this miserable world. Our hearts go out to Jeanette and the entire family but Yeshua guarantees us we will see Eric again in his perfect, glorified body. Remember, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Connie and I wish we could come to the funeral but I am recovering from major surgery on my foot and long travel is difficult in a cast. I first met Eric when he and Jeanette reached out to me in prayer, what a wonderful blessing.  This was the beginning of an everlasting friendship.  Eric was as generous as he was kind and supportive  always reaching out and caring for others.  He could make you laugh easily with his wonderful sense of humor and I will miss him dearly.  Amongst the sadness though there are many loving memories.Dear Jeanette and family please know brighter days will be coming your way, and that time and the prayers of so many who care will lessen your sorrow each day.In comfort and peace, Barbara Adams

Eric will be missed by many, he was a very special man, always ready to help or to make you smile. His faith was unlimited and I''m sure his Heavenly Father has welcomed him with open arms. Eric expressed his love for Jeanette often and also his gratitude for her good care of him. He loved, and was proud of, each member of his family. My sympathy to each of Eric's family and to his many friends. Eric, goodbye for now but not forever.
