He was born July 11, 1945 in the Bronx, New York and came to the area 32 years ago. He was a United States Navy Vietnam War veteran and a retired Police Officer with the New York Police Department. He loved fishing, collecting stamps and coins, the beach and the ocean.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Maureen Cegar of Spring Hill, Florida; daughters: Nicole and Stefanie Cegar, both of Spring Hill, Florida; three grandchildren: Victoria Cegar, Sienna Cole, and Deryck Cole.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00pm, Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, where Funeral Services begin at 4:00pm.
