Eric F Ruzicka

RUZICKA, Eric F., age 89 of Spring Hill died Saturday, October 18, 2014. Born in Astoria, NY he graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Eengineering and later received a M.S. degree in engineering from the University of California-Berkley. He also studied at the University of Nebraska. During WWII he was a navigator/pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corps flying commissioned officers to and from the war fronts for training in new technologies in the U.S.. He was an engineer for ITT Corporation in New Jersey until his retirement and then moved to Florida in 1988 from Essex County, NJ. He was much loved by his many friends of over sixty years including his energetic post-retirement tennis partners! He was predeceased by his parents: Louis & Emily Ruzicka; brothers: George & Walter and nephew: Steven Ruzicka. Survivors include his niece: Marcia Marcantonio; great-nephews: Jesse Ruzicka & Tony Marcantonio and great-nieces: Ashley Dent, Brandy Ruzicka-Craft and Nicole Gunning. Visitation will be from 11am to 12noon Monday, October 27, 2014 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
