MEYER, Georiga Ann (Harwood), age 67 of Spring Hill went to be with her family in heaven Thursday, December 3, 2015 and will be loved and missed. She was born July 23, 1948 to Lionel & Edna May Harwood in Median, NY. She was the oldest of four children and had a brother and two sisters: Bonnie, Rusty and LynnDee. She attended Medina High School graduating in in 1966. After high school she briefly worked in a local flower shop where she learned she had a talent for designing flower arrangements and crating crafts, a hobby she enjoyed throughout her life. In 1971 Georgia married George Louis Meyer, a sailor in the U.S. Navy. She quickly adapted to life as a Navy spouse…aka: “House Commander Extraordinar”, a role she would fill for the next 22 years. This was in addition to her role as a mom to Jamie Lynn, Jodie Ann and Jeremy Scott, often serving as mom and dad while George was deployed from 9 to 12 months at a time. Later, all three children would serve in the military and Georgia was once again “command central” for the entire family, a task that required a sense of humor and sarcasm at times… both of which she had perfected. Georgia is survived by her loving husband of 45 years: George; three children and daughter-in-law that she was very proud of: Jamie Meyer-Hurst, Jodie Meyer and Jeremy (Wendy) Meyer; four grandchildren who she loved dearly and were the light of her life: Tyler Hurst, Kaitlyn Meyer, Wyatt Hurst & Kyle Meyer and her two fur babies: Tate & Bouy. A memorial service at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL will be held at a later date. Card & flowers in Georgia’s memory may be sent to her home at: 6309 Shalimar Avenue, Spring Hill, FL 34608.
