WELLS, Herbert R., age 77 of Brooksville, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Oak Hill Hospital. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, he moved to the Brooksville area over 70 years ago. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Sims Crane & Equipment, member of the National Rifle Association, Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Christian by faith. Survivors include his wife: Deborah; daughters: Kandice McCorkel of Brooksville and Jennifer Sowda of Wesley Chapel, Florida; sister: Linda Sharman and 6 grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted 1:00pm, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
