Jed was born January 9, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, but his life and work took him both around the country and around the world. First and foremost, Jed loved being a father and adored his sons. He raised his boys in New Jersey before retiring to Brooksville in 2013. In his career, Jed was a salesman extraordinaire. He was a sales executive at Panasonic and Belmay and stayed active in the business world through independent consulting during his retirement. Jed will be remembered for his humor, his passion for both history and modern politics, his love of golf, and his pride in his sons and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Bernice (Tashman) and his brother, Jeffrey Jacobs. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jake and Julie of Morris Plains, New Jersey, Justin and Gina of Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey, and Jason of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandsons, Jordan and Jonah; his sisters, Jill (and Robert) Conklin of Denver, Colorado, and Judy (and John) Sutton of Chicago, Illinois; his brother Dr. Joshua (and Faye) Jacobs of Wilmette, Illinois; and nieces and nephews Nathan, Jennifer, Ross, Max, and Eve.
