John....was thinking about you today...thought i would just stop by...had a great time working with you as usps...always remember the 3 am starts and how we all got thru it in the parcel kingdom.... remember when joe d flipped out on us for some stupid reason and he wanted to take you on...i stepped in between both of you and tried to stop two giants from colliding....what a day...glad you listened and realized he wasn't worth it....never ever saw you ever mad before or after as you were always a good worker and friend...take care friend

I only met John a few times; but, I knew he was a special young man.  My daughter and her husband spent an entire afternoon with him while purchasing a Harley in October.  It was indeed a pleasure to be in his company.  My son-in-law is a Prince George's County Police Officer and when he purchased the bike, John made him feel very comfortable and special because of John's brother.  I know he will be missed very much; but, I wanted you to know that he touched many lives without knowing it.

We love you all, and you are in our Prayers. Remembering when John was a young man and worked at the local Winn-Dixie store as a bag boy, what a joy he was. And getting to know him as he prepared to serve our country thru his military duty as he shipped off to California. We will always remeber him as an honorable young man.May God bless each of you who loved John, in a special way, and thank you for sharing his life with us. In Christ Jesus, Debbie and Alison.

To Kathy and Family, I was so sorry to hear of your great loss.  John Shannon will always have a place in my heart.  He was a very special child to me, I am sorry I never knew him as an adult.  If he was anything like an adult as he was a child, I know he was very loving and caring.  I have a picture of him sitting on my computer desk in my home that I see every day, and it has been there since I have no lnoger been a part of your family. I do not even know where to begin.  I loved John so much. He was in my life from day one.  Kathy and Michael has always been a part of my life and my children's life there were times I could not have gone on without them. We have had many many memories together and So much Laughter.  I have a hole so big in my heart right now that it is going to take many many year's to fill.  I do know John is in Heaven with God our Lord and Saviour.  I miss him!  It is the one's lefted behind who suffer and I'am one of the many that loved John that is suffering.I love you Kathy, Michael, Kristi and Angel.  Also, my heart goes out to the Guin family and my Children, brothers and sister, Aunt's and Uncle' the grandma's and grandpa's the friends.  But the Hardest part is the Hurt that my sister and brother-in -law is feeling along with Kristi and Angel! I had alot of talks with John over his life and I loved him very much and I know he knew I loved him! Time get's away from you and one day you wake up and someone you love very much is gone.  Thank you God for the time I had with John my nephew. And thank you Michael and Kathy for sharing you son with me!  I will love and cherish every moment I had with each and everyone of you. Words can not express how sorry I am for the family,along with Angel.I had never met Angel but from all that I have heard she was the one for him,looking at the pictures you could tell they where truly happy.I have memory's of John growing up,doing alot of dishes and somehow between John and Myself figured out how to get a whole chicken cooked,which was a task in itself as I don't cook,but we managed before Michael and Kathy got home.Also going to his high school football games.He will be missed.

Mary and I just heard about this yesterday,(Feb 4th), Jeff at Gulfcoast told me and for a moment my knees trembled and make heart hurt with sorrow.  I knew I was about to faint...but then...all of a sudden, a peace came over me that I have never felt before!  I'm sure that it was John, telling me that he was okay and now living in Gods wonderful grace and love! He was telling me not to cry and mourn for him too long...because he could ride now...whenever and wherever he wanted...and think about his wonderful family and friends, who will someday join him on the greatest ride of ever...Gods love!  I had the distinct pleasure of knowing John for only a short while, he sold me my first Harley-Davidson in October...I dont think I will ever part with it now.  If there is any good" to come of this terrible loss...it is that even Heaven is improved by Johns presence!  May God bless all whose lives John touched!"

Friday, January 17, 2006 9:30amWith much regret, I was not able to attend John's funeral this morning.  However, as I sit here, looking out over the exact spot that John and Amie were married so many years ago, I can hear the rumbling of the bikes coming through town.  Amie just called me, telling me how many there were, and she's already there, yet there's still coming.  Through the tears, in my mind, I can see John smiling.  That is what I will remember the most... the smiles, the joking, the laughter.  My love and prayers to you all.  

Kathy, Michael & Kristi - My heart aches for you and the whole family.  I did not know John but seeing the love poured out here and all that you have shared with me he will be truely missed.  My wish for you is PEACE.  May God's presence be with you always.

JOHN WAS A GREAT FRIEND. WHEN AMIE AND JOHN WERE DATING AND THEN GOT  MARRIED. HE TOLD AMIE'S FRIENDS AS HIS. AND TRUELY CARED ABOUT EVERYONE. HE WILL BE MISSED BUT I WAS BLESSED TO KNOW HIM AND TO BE HIS FRIEND.

I knew John when he was in the Marine Corps. John, Amie, my husband and I were inseparable. We hung out playing dominoes every night, bowled, went to the beach, and had a wonderful time together. We became each other's family since we were so far from our own. We shared our Christmas dinners and our birthday celebrations and we made a tough time into a great time. John was so funny --- he made us laugh all the time. I haven't seen John since I left California in 1995 but he will always be a very special memory to me. I send my love to his family and friends. John was the greatest friend my husband has ever had the plesure of knowing. I think he say's it best when he say's that it took him 28 years to find him and in the rest of his lifetime he'll never find another like him. John was so special to us both and especially to our 7 year old daughter Zoe. I have never seen anyone bring a smile to her face like him. She still asks if this is just a dream. He will be so desperately missed. I thank the LORD that we had the oppertunity to share our faith and our testomonies with one another one night out in the bikes. That alone has brought us so much comfort and strength. The Pastor at the service said that John would never again say goodbye again - that from now on it will only be hello. I am so happy that time is really nothing more than the blink of an eye because I so look forward to the day that we all will be together again to say HELLO! GOD Bless you all in this trying time.
