John Arthur Walczak

He was born October 13, 1938 in Orano, Maine, the son of the late Frank A. and Mary E. (Cormier) Walczak.  John and Linda relocated to Spring Hill, Florida four years ago from Haddam, Connecticut which they had lived for 54 years.  He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.  He worked as a HVAC Technician for Kaman Aerospace Corporation (formerly Raymond Engineering) in Middletown, Connecticut and was a lifetime member of the Middletown, Connecticut Moose Lodge #1547 and a lifetime member of the American Legion post 156, East Haddam, Connecticut.  He loved life and helping others in any way he could from furnace or air conditioning repairs to fixing cars or changing batteries, he was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved watching PGA golf on Sunday afternoons and daily never missed episodes of Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He loved his friends in Connecticut and Wellington at Seven Hills Community where he resided.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Walczak Johnson and Carl Johnson of Haddam, Connecticut; a sister, Betty Cummings; an aunt, Louise Cavwey; in addition several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved grand dogs, Annabella and Brynlie who he absolutely adored. 

A special thanks to Dr. Mary Li and Dr. Billisha Robinson and their entire staff at the Brooksville office of Florida Cancer Specialists for their phenomenal care and the staff at Sturgill Hospice Care Center.

A Visitation for family and friends will take place from 10:30-11:30am, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:30am, with Pastor David Brockhoff officiating.  Burial will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens.  Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Food Pantry - Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1214 Broad Street, Masaryktown, Florida 34604-6812.
