Joseph A. Bilskis

BILSKIS, Joseph A., age 93 of Spring Hill, FL, died Sat., Feb. 11, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and dear friend, Angela Lutz.   Born in Tower City, PA, he came here 31 years ago from Milford, CT.  He retired from Perkin Elmer Corporation, was a U.S. Army Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.  Mr. Bilskis enjoyed bowling, dancing and traveling.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Mae, son, Gregory and sister, Betty Lou Shea.  Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law:  James & Stephanie Bilskis of Clinton, CT; daughters & sons-in-law:  Sharon & Charles Flaws of Shelton, CT, Sheila Smith of New Britian, CT and Lisa & Michael Prete of Milford, CT; sisters & brother-in-law:  Ann Scollard of Spring Hill, FL and Pat & Dimas Souza of Beacon Falls, CT; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Visitation for friends will be 6 – 8pm, Wed., Feb. 15, 2017 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am, Thur., Feb. 16, 2017 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.  Military honors will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HPH Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
