SHEFFIELD, Mildred Elizabeth “Betty” age 73 of Brooksville, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at her home. Born in Chester, SC, she came here 28 years ago from Miami, FL. She was a retired School Teacher, teaching in Atlanta and Miami, and eventually retiring from the Hernando County Public School System, where she taught third grade. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, volunteered with hospice and loved reading, scrapbooking and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles G. “Jerry” Sheffield; sons & daughters-in-law: Tommy & Katie of Tampa and Chris & Amber of Dove Canyon, CA; grandchildren: Selena, Braden, Emmy, Hunter & Jackson.
Visitation for friends will be 5 – 7pm, Sat., April 18, 2015 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm, Sun., April 19, 2015 at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church with Pastor David Franklin officiating. Burial will follow at the Brooksville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HPH Hospice.
