Morita Edna Smiley

SMILEY, Morita Edna, age 85, of Weeki Wachee, FL died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at her home. She was born in Brooksville, Florida, lived in Winter Park, FL and has been back in Brooksville, FL since 1988. She was a receptionist in a medical doctor’s office and also a homemaker. She was Baptist by faith. She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Marvin Smiley; daughter and son-in-law: Kaye and Steve Bechtel, all of  Weeki Wachee, FL; brother and sister-in-law: Frank, Jr. and Juanita Gibson of Panacea, FL; sisters: Cleo Cole of Jacksonville, FL; Marcy Winberg of Rutherfordton, NC; 2 grandchildren: Jamie (James) Ansley; Jason (Lori) Bechtel; 6 great-grandchildren: Hayley, Madoline, Svend, Kailee, Cloe, Daisy. Visitation for friends will be from 1-2:00pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:30pm at Brooksville Cemetery with Pastor Thomas Almond officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to to HPH Hospice.
