

She was born in Cumberland Maryland on March 29th, 1935 as the 3rd child of Hazel Kendall and Harold Fletcher. She was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1953. She initially worked as a teller in a local bank and modeled for their local newspaper. She moved with her mother to Fort Lauderdale Florida where she met her husband Robert Bruce Klingensmith, a civil engineer, and married on July 11th, 1959.
Pat and Bob started a family, while living in Florida, with the birth of their daughters Karen and Judy. Bob's career would take his family travelling across the country with residences in Tulsa Oklahoma, Rochester Michigan and Carlisle Pennsylvania.
They returned to Florida where they built their dream home. Pat was actively involved in the community and worked at Eastside Elementary when not volunteering. She served in many positions with the League of Women Voters and various other civic organisations. Pat was a deeply religious person and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Brooksville where she participated as a choir member, circle leader, and also held a position on the church Advisory Committee.
Although she had many hobbies her priority in life was always her family.
Pat is survived by her two daughters, Karen Klingensmith and Judy Fletcher (Steve); grandchildren, George Smith (Keanna), William Fletcher (Audrey), Katy Wentz (Larry), Melissa Carmody (Jarrod), and Bobby Smith; great-grandchildren, Madison, Marilee and Larry Wentz, Valor Smith, Roland, Carter and Scotti Carmody.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00-1:00pm, Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Merritt Funeral Home Brooksville (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville FL 34601), where Services begin at 1:00pm.
