Ray has told me over the years of several escapades of his younger years and the Christmas tree story was one of them.  Boy, did that make me laugh - he was quite the character.  Also, the story about stealing ( borrowing) the milk or water trucks to joyride in.  Not sure if you were involved in that but your story of the trees made me smile.  Thanks for that.    Denise

My sincerest sympathies go out to Denise and Alexa Rae.  Raymond was one of the “good guys” but as kids we were kids!  I remember Raymond and brother Billy had to go bed early and I’d be allowed to stay and watch tv with big sister Denise. Eventually I would need to use the bathroom which was located across the hall from the boys bedroom . As I walked by I would be attacked by a barrage of smelly socks both coming and going. I always wondered where they got all those socks because it would happen nightly. Things changed as we got older.  I remember we all wanted to go see the Eagles and Baz Scagges in concert in the 70’s.  We all got tickets (it was the first night Joe Walsh played with the Eagles) as the day came for the show in Jersey city it dawned on us we had no way to get to New Jersey. Raymond’s best friend Tommy (Toody) Depalo lived right behind Raymond and in the driveway was Toody’s fathers station wagon which would solve our transportation problem. Now to convince Toody’s father to let us take his wagon. Well Raymond and Toody got Mr. Depalo to ok taking his car only if Toody’s cousin Michael(my best buddy) would drive the car. Off we went...10 guys and 2 coolers of beer. We made it to the show but missed Boz Scaggs  because we were all getting drunk in the parking lot. The Eagles were great as our group of ten drunk kids muscled our way to the stage and then managed to make it home in one piece. It was one of best concerts I’d been to before or since.  I still can’t believe Mr. Depalo let us take his car! Then there was the time Raymond learned about supply and demand. Somewhere Raymond had come across a bunch of Christmas trees and was going to sell them from his backyard cheap! Unfortunately there was no demand for trees two days before Xmas and we ended upputting trees out for weeks for the garbage men.  Wonder what they thought!  Raymond and the Hartys were like having a 2nd family and I loved them all.  Rest In Peace buddy!!!

My deepest sympathy goes out to Denise and Alexa, I first met Ray in March of 2003 when he interviewed me for a saleswomans job at Ultimate Defense. Everyone was very suspicious of me cause I had come from that other crazy self defense company in Spring Hill. But Ray and I really hit it off, he always would tell me I give you a lot of credit for applying for a job here, you got big pair of balls..I came from Long Island as he did. We would always remanis about Lindenhurst.Ray was such a dear friend and big brother to me, when I moved back to New York my desk was a shrine and he told everyone they weren’t allowed to sit at my old desk.Lol I will miss you my dear friend, always a place in my heart ❤️

Mr. Harty, was the perfect neighbor!Always,❤️❤️ waving to say hello and riding his lawnmower to keep the neighborhood in tack. Yes, a funny Sense of humor. When I first got my Cadillac Escalade Ray said: I like that big white thing parked in your driveway. Such a Loving Family man, aways smiling, and keeping our neighborhood beautiful. Deeply Missed by The Finlay's.

My Uncle Raymond was the ultimate fun uncle! I loved spending time with him! He would always make me laugh. When he rented an apartment a few blocks away from our house I was so excited! We would always ask to sleep over! He would always take us to rent movies and order pizza! My favorite part was he would let us bake cookies! He would buy the sleeve of slice and bake cookies and let us eat the raw cookie dough! He would always say, “don’t tell your mother!”.  We would beg him to let us stay up late. He would always let us. We would twirl each other’s hair until we fell asleep. And every time- he would fall asleep first!!!!Heaven definitely hit the jack pot. Uncle Raymond is so kind and fun. While I have so many memories of my baby brother Ray this one still makes me laugh to this day. Ray was staying with my husband and I while he was in between places , one morning we were getting ready for work and all of a sudden I hear Ray yelling to me to help him . I panicked and ran in to the bathroom only to find that he got the hairbrush stuck in his hair. Now if you knew Ray we all knew how paranoid he was about losing his hair ( a family trait that he did not appreciate.) I was hysterical laughing and he was yelling at me to get the brush out without pulling any hair out. I tried my best but said Ray , I have to cut some hair to get it loose .He was yelling no cutting, getting very upset with me, and even madder because I was still laughing. Finally I said unless you want to go work with a hairbrush stuck in your head i have to cut .He finally agreed and the brush came out, and then he too started laughing hysterical.Ray was truly a wonderful brother with such a caring and compassionate heart. His sense of humor and his fun loving ways made everyone adore him. It breaks my heart to lose him but he will never be forgotten, his spirit will live on forever !!You will always be remembered and loved and the memories you leave behind cherished !!So Budro, until we meet again , may God hold you in the palm of his hand.All my love Noreen

My Uncle Raymond was a very funny and loved man. I have many fond memories of him from my childhood. A story that still makes me laugh is about his little sports car that he drove. He was so proud of his Nissan Pulsar and we would all love when he would take the tops off and take us for a ride.  Taking the tops off the car was quite the process. I remember one summer day he had the tops off and took the kids for a ride. After joy riding, he went in and took a nap. Wouldn’t you know that a summer storm hit and we all tried so hard to cover the car. I’m not sure which was more difficult.....putting the car back together or waking up Uncle Raymond! Although he will be very missed here, I know a few people in heaven that welcomed him with open arms.  My hope is that they have tears from laughter rolling down their faces as they reunite with each other. Heaven gained a great man this week. May you Rest In Peace, Uncle Raymond. My uncle Raymond was a very good man. He was very funny and very proud of his Irish heritage. Even though I have not spoken to him in some time I can hear his voice and his laugh.One of my fondest moments of my uncle always revolves around the holidays when we all would play football. So I remember when I was a teenager and we were playing football on thanksgiving I had to tackle my uncle  I was trying to prove I was tough I wanted to tackle my big strong uncle. So I did and when I tackled him I pulled him on top of me and we hit heads, we wound up in the hospital and I got 8 stitches above my eye. My uncle was so upset. I just want him to know it was my fault and I was just trying to prove to him that I was tough. Uncle Raymond you will be missed very much. I know you are in good hands now and with good company, until we meet again  love William Guzik
