He was born July 16, 1963 in Ocala, Florida and came to this area two years ago from Crawfordville, Georgia. He served in the United States Navy and later worked as a horticulturist. He was a member of the American Legion Tampa and was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Richard T. Rimes, II & Jessica Rimes of New Port Richey, Florida; daughter: Kaylee Rimes of Brooksville, Florida; brothers: Aaron Rimes, Adrian Rimes and Dwayne Newsome; sisters: Cathy Rimes and Teresa Rimes Redd; grandchildren: Diana Coban-Rimes, Joseph Arra-Rimes and Theodore Rimes.
A Visitation for family and friends will take place from 9:00-11:00am, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services begin at 11:00am, with Pastor Tony Cyrulik officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors.
