

He was born on July 25, 1929 in Nashville, Tennessee and retired from the Navy as a Senior Chief Yeoman in 1971. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business in 1974, retired Chief Comptroller of the PGA tour, and was an active member of the Brooksville Golf and Country Club as well as an avid golfer.
Robert is survived by his longtime friends, Ken Bryan and family, Dan and Deb Merritt, and his caregiver, Pamela Rose. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret "Molly" Heaton and niece Lisa Heaton. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Chance and his second wife, Sylvia Chance.

A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held from 11:00am-12:30pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Merritt Funeral Home Brooksville, 2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL followed by a Graveside Service at 1:30pm at Florida National Cemetery, 6504 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL.
