Born August 30, 1960 in Brooksville, Florida, he was the son of the late Asa and Helen (Wernicke) Patterson. He was a lifelong resident of Brooksville, served in the United States Army and worked for a local roofing business.
He is survived by his sisters, Kathryn "Kay" Newcomb of Florida City, Florida and Joyce Baker of Ocala, Florida; his brother, Bryan Patterson of Brooksville, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
