He was born June 1, 1930 in Largo, Florida and came to Brooksville 20 years ago from Fort Pierce, Florida. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from the City of Fort Pierce where he worked for 32 years as a surveyor and was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his son, William Smiley of Port St. Lucie, Florida; his daughters and son-in-law, Angela Boyd and Gloria & James Snack, of Brooksville and Debbie Smiley of Spring Hill, Florida; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
