DRIGGERS, Thomas Douglas SR, age 74, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on February 21, 1947, to Everett and Blanche (Hunter) Driggers. Tom served in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic during Vietnam. He then began what was to become his lifelong career on the railroad. In 1974 he was hired by the Washington Terminal Company as a steamfitter. He rose through the ranks to become the Superintendent of Ivy City Washington for Amtrak. After 20 years with Amtrak Tom entered the private sector as the Surface Transportation Sales Manager for Monogram Sanitation. He would later join his son’s business, Indierail in a similar capacity for the remaining 19 years of his career. He built a reputation of honesty, integrity and the habit of being very direct in communication. He was the consummate professional who always remained true to customer and company, never compromising either.
His many successes were shared with his wife of 56 years, Susan. Married directly out of high school Tom and Susan would have a connection only made through decades of unending support, encouragement and unconditional love. True soulmates and lifelong friends, who will forever be connected. They were dance partners for life.
