

FRAZIER, Walter Thomas, age 84, Brooksville, Florida passed away at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida at 3:40pm, Saturday, April 28, 2012. He was born at home in Leslie, Georgia on August 16, 1927 to Aaron Jefferson Frazier and Mary Cheek Frazier. He attended school in Sumter County Georgia and ABAC College in Tifton Georgia, where he played college basketball. He retired from the Florida Department of Agriculture with a lengthy career of service with fruits and vegetables, poultry and egg and food store inspection. Following retirement he enjoyed life to the fullest with his passion for growing sweet corn, fishing, hunting and actively watching and attending sporting events. He was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan. He was married to Orlena Colley Frazier for 59 years, who preceded him in death on August 9, 2009. He is survived by three sons and a daughter, Richard Frazier, David (Sharon) Frazier and Don (Tracy) Frazier, all of Brooksville and Susan (James) Woods of Crystal River. Grandchildren are Jeffrey Ragan of Americus, Georgia, Brittany (W.T.) Finley, Jami Frazier, Luke Frazier, Candice Frazier, all of Brooksville and Branden Durham of Malstrom AFB of Great Falls, MT. Great grandchildren are Travis and Colton Finley and Ryan Thomas of Brooksville. Siblings who preceded him in death are Floyd Frazier, Wilbur Frazier and Edna Gardner of Americus, Georgia. Surviving siblings include Janie (Billy) Crook, Bobbie (Kenneth) Morris of Americus, Georgia and Rilla (Lewis) Veatch of Ellaville, GA. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Merritt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be officiated by Brother Bill Shaw and Matt Ellis at the First Baptist Church in Brooksville, Florida at 11:00am Wednesday, May 2, 2012. The burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Cypress Cove Care Center, Resident Council/Activity Fund, 700 Southeast 8th Ave, Crystal River, Florida 34429. Friends may drop off gifts of food, etc., between the hours of 10:00am to 5:00pm, Monday, April 30, 2012 and 10:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 516 Colonial Drive, Brooksville, FL.
