Benigna H. Meacham passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her home in Brunswick. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brunswick with Father Cletus officiating.
Benigna was born November 24, 1944 to the late Norbert and Orinta Henkel in Greenville, Mississippi. She attended nursing school in Little Rock, Arkansas and received her Undergraduate degree from St. Louis University. She then earned her Postgraduate degree in Psychiatric Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta.
In her retired years she enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul thrift store in Brunswick and at St. Anne’s thrift store in Darien.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years: Arnold Meacham and two sisters: Margaret Jodoin (Skip) of Massachusetts and Nancy Idzorek (Scott) of Arizona and many friends.
